His Serene Highness Hermann Friedrich Fernando Roland, Prince zu Leiningen was born on April 16, 1963 in Toronto. Son of Princess Marie Louise of Bulgaria and Prince Carl-Wladimir zu Leiningen, great-grandson of the Liberator King Alexander II and Queen Victoria of Great Britain, which officially places him 68th in the order of succession to the British throne. He lives permanently in Canada. He is currently a Managing Director of the Royal Bank of Canada and has been with the Bank since 1985 in various management positions.
He graduated in 1983 from Queen’s University, Kingston Ontario, Canada with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History (with Economics).
Prior to that, he graduated second in his class from the prestigious Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania, the same academy from which His Majesty King Simeon II graduated.
Married to Deborah Culley, they have three daughters – Tatiana, Nadia and Alexandra.
He actively participates in a number of Bulgarian initiatives, in events dedicated to the role of King Boris and the Bulgarian people in saving the Bulgarian Jews. Prince Herman is an honorary member of the Board of Trustees of the H.C.V. Princess Marie Louise.
