King Boris and Queen Givanna Royal Heritage Fund – Vrana Palace is a non-governmental and non-political organization established under the Law on Non-Profit Legal Entities. The subject of its main activity comprises research, education, restoration, and exhibition activities dedicated to the history of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom, Bulgarian Royal Dynasty, and the Monarchical Institute in general.

King Boris and Queen Giovanna Royal Heritage Fund has the following objectives:

  • To preserve for future generations the memory and historical heritage of the Bulgarian Royal Dynasty in the spirit of the established national-ecclesiastic traditions during the Third Bulgarian Kingdom (1878-1946) and according to the current legislation in the Republic of Bulgaria and the commonly accepted European norms and standards;
  • To study, protect, restore and conserve, socialize and manage cultural monuments, historical artifacts, collections, movable cultural values, documents related to the history of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom, Bulgarian Royal Dynasty, and the Monarchical Institute in general;
  • To assist the state and municipal institutions, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the academic bodies for the preservation of the historical heritage of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom;
  • To introduce the Bulgarian public to, and to promote the historical heritage of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom and Bulgarian Royal Dynasty in Europe and around the world, and to contribute to the development of cultural and historical tourism and church pilgrimage;
  • To encourage and support, including through the establishment of scholarships and/or targeted funding for research, publications, and studies of the historical heritage of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom, Bulgarian Royal Dynasty, and the Monarchical Institute in general;
  • To implement external projects aimed at preserving and promoting the historical heritage of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom;
  • To support youth organizations related to the preservation of the historical heritage of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom and Bulgarian Royal Dynasty and its socialization through activities carried out with the participation of pupils, students, and doctoral students;
  • To encourage and support the integration of disadvantaged people of all ages through activities related to the preservation and promotion of the historical heritage of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom;
  • The Fund has cooperation agreements with the leading national and municipal museums and institutions for preservation and promotion of the historical heritage of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom, including the National Museum of Military History, the National Art Gallery, the Sofia City Art Gallery, the Regional History Museum – Sofia and others.
